Derek Carr led the Fresno State Bulldogs back into the national spotlight in 2013 with a 11-1 record and a Top-25 BCS ranking in each of the eight BCS polls. In 12 games Carr amassed an FBS-best 4,866 yards and 48 touchdowns, while completing over 70 percent of his passes. The Bulldogs were most recently ranked No. 20 in the BCS standings after Carr led his team to winning the Mountain West Championship, following the game Carr was named the MW Championship offensive player of the game after throwing for more than 400 yards for the eighth time in 2013. This has been a magical season for the Bulldogs, and with the impact Carr brings to the Bulldog football program, on-and-off the field, makes it hard to argue he isn’t the most outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity.
